It’s noteworthy that the concept version of the upcoming Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara rival was first seen at the 2023 Auto Expo. A near-production model was subsequently put on display at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Let me run you through all the available information on the new C-SUV from Tata Motors.
Exterior & Interior
From the looks of it, the Tata CURVV might just pip the Citroen Basalt at becoming the first coupe-style crossover of the segment. The aesthetics of the new model will be governed by the same modern design theme that the Harrier, Safari, Nexon, and Punch.ev feature. Of course, the sporty silhouette and the slightly raking roofline will be the major highlights of the vehicle. The front-end will be characterized by sleek LED DRLs and dual-projector headlamps. The side profile will be all about the sharply sloping roofline, crisp creases and bold wheel arches. The rear-end looks as modern as the front-end and is characterized by LED lighting setup.

Tata CURVV Specifications and Price
In all likelihood, the CURVV will be sold with ICE as well as EV options right from the day of its launch. Hence, buyers will benefit from a choice of a turbo-petrol, turbo-diesel and electric powertrain. The EV version will be built on the carmaker’s Gen 2 Acti.ev platform and offer a range of up to 500 km on a single charge. Also, it should be sold in FWD as well as AWD versions. The ICE options will be the familiar 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel options from the Nexon. But safely expect a retune for additional punch. The petrol will output 123 bhp while the diesel mill should offer 113 bhp. Transmissions will range from manual, AMT and dual-clutch automatic units.

Now coming to the million dollar question – What is the price of Tata CURVV and CURVV EV?
As is a safe guess, the Tata CURVV EV will command a significant premium over the Nexon EV. This should translate to a starting price of around Rs 20 lakh. With this, the new offering will become the carmaker’s flagship electric car until the advent of the Harrier EV. It will go on to rival the likes of MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Creta EV.
Tata will likely launch the Curvv lineup in India with the Curvv EV, which is anticipated to be priced around 20 lakh. This would position it as Tata’s flagship EV until the Harrier EV is released. It will compete with the MG ZS EV, the forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Maruti Suzuki eVX. Meanwhile, the petrol and diesel models will cost around the same as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos. This could lead to a base price of approx Rs 11 lakh. We’ll have to wait for the official launch for the confirmed price list.
