Mahindra has been introducing the new breed of EVs aggressively and the electric iteration of the XUV700 has also been revealed
The production version of the highly anticipated Mahindra XEV 7e has finally been revealed online. For the uninitiated, the XEV 7e is the electric avatar of the XUV700. We had spotted it testing on our roads for a while now. After the launch of XEV 9e and BE 6, the Indian auto giant will bring the XEV 7e to our market. This will help expand its electric portfolio even further. Mahindra aims to challenge the dominance of Tata Motors in the EV segment in India. For now, let us take a look at all that has been showcased in the latest video.
Production-spec Mahindra XEV 7e Revealed
This video clip stems from dhruvattri208 on Instagram. The visuals capture the upcoming 3-row electric SUV without any camouflage. At the front, it takes inspiration from the recently launched XEV 9e. This includes a 7-shaped LED DRL cluster which is connected to an LED light strip which runs the width of the fascia. At the centre, it gets a large gloss black grille with LED headlamps nestled on the extreme edges. The lower bumper section looks rugged. On the sides, there are chunky alloy wheels and wheel arches while the overall silhouette resembles the XUV700. The story with the tail section is similar with sharp LED taillamps and a sporty bumper.
On the inside, the video gives us a glimpse of the dual-tone interior theme with black and white upholstery. Also, it showcases the captain seats for the second two. Apart from that, it will share the triple-screen layout with the XEV 9e. This includes a digital driver’s instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment display and a passenger’s screen covering the entire dashboard. The top amenities include a two-spoke steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS, premium audio system, multi-zone automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with memory and ventilation function and much more.
Specs
Now, even though Mahindra has not announced the exact specifications, I reckon it could borrow the battery pack options from the XEV 9e. This means a 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack with a range of over 550 km on a single charge. There will be drive modes to choose from and the single-motor 2WD and dual-motor AWD configurations will allow adventure seekers to take it to challenging terrains. I am certain that more details will surface as we get closer to the launch sometime in the second half of this year. I expect the prices to commence from Rs 21 lakh onwards. The direct rival will be the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Tata Safari EV.
