The Porsche Taycan interiors are dominated by as many as four screens including one for the passenger. The only analog element is the clock on the dashboard!
Ahead of its official debut on September 4, Porsche has finally revealed some interior images of the Taycan EV. While we had seen several exterior shots of the Taycan already, this is the first time one can set their eyes on the interiors of the Porsche Taycan and as you guessed it, it’s all digital. It continues with the two-part dashboard layout of Porsche with a horizontal upper wing and a narrow lower wing but that’s where the similarities end.
The Porsche Taycan interiors are dominated by huge screens. First up, there’s the massive 16.8-inch curved digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. It retains the five-dial layout like in all Porsche’s but the analog tachometer is most certainly gone. The MID comes with four different preset modes- Classic, Map, Full Map and Pure which alters information displayed on the MID.
Next up, there are two 10.9 inch touchscreen infotainment systems, one of them being for the passenger. These screen primarily handle the connectivity, navigation and media settings but while the center screen houses some driver settings too, the passenger-side screen is devoid of any such function. The screens have been very well designed to be integrated with the dashboard and gives the cabin a very neat and simplistic design.
Lastly, there’s a new 8.4-inches vertically mounted screen on the center console – much like the new-gen Audis – which feature haptic control and houses the climate control functions and some driver settings. It displays the charge level when the car is plugged in and also features handwriting recognition. The Taycan gets electrically controlled climate control vents that are paired with a “Virtual Airflow Control” system. An additional 5.9-inch display can be had as an option in the rear to manage the climate controls as part of an optional four-zone climate control package.

The only analog element in this tech-savvy interiors is the analog clock on top of the dashboard. How beautiful of Porsche to retain that! Apart from glass screens in the cabin, you also get to touch classic leather, tanned club leather or an optional ‘Race-Tex’ material consisting of recycled polyester fibers as for the upholstery of the car. The floor also utilises recycled materials. The doors and center console trims are offered in wood trim, matte carbon, embossed aluminum or fabric. Porsche has said that the Taycan will make it to India with a expected unveil at the 2019 Auto Expo and a launch in March 2020.
