The Porsche Taycan 4S gets a peak power of 530hp and a range of 406 km but both can be increased with the optional Performance Battery Plus. There are some styling differences too.
The Porsche Taycan was unveiled a month ago in Turbo and Turbo S variants. Now Porsche has introduced a new entry-level 4S variant of the Taycan to make the car more accessible to its audience. The Porsche Taycan 4S gets a 79.2kWh battery for a WLTP-certified range of 406km and puts out 530hp during overboost in standard form. It sprints from naught to 100 kph in just 4 seconds.
Porsche will also be offering a Performance Battery Plus option pack which takes the peak power of the car up to 571hp and also increases the battery output to 93.4kWh. With the Performance Battery Plus option, the 0-100 acceleration remains the same but the range increases 462k km, 56 km greater than that of the standard 4S. That is also the highest range offered by any of the Taycans. The Performance Battery Plus also gets a faster peak charging rate; at 270kW to the base car’s 225kW.
Most of the technical components in the Taycan 4S is identical to the ones on the Turbo and Turbo S variants. It gets two electric motors on both axles for an all-wheel drive system and a 2-speed transmission for acceleration. However, the rear motor is shorter by 80mm than it is in the Turbo and Turbo S. It also gets smaller brakes, now measuring 360mm with six pistons on the front, and 358mm with four pistons at the rear.

There are some external visual changes too which hint of the 4S being the entry level Taycan. It gets smaller 19-inch wheels, red painted brake callipers and some revisions in design to the front aprons, side sills and the rear diffuser. The dynamic LED lights remain standard fitment. Porsche offers part-leather interior upholstery as standard but you could also choose for a leather-free cabin with recycled materials.
