Porsche has listed three version of the Cayenne Coupe on their website – Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne Turbo Coupe, Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe – which are coming to India.
Back in July when Porsche launched the Macan facelift in India, they had hinted that they would also be bringing the Taycan and Cayenne Coupe to India. Now, the company has officially announced the coming of the Cayenne Coupe, along with its launch date in India on December 13, 2019. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe made its global debut in March this year and its coming to our shores in just nine months. It will be a tad bit more expensive than the regular SUV which is currently priced at Rs. 1.19 crore to Rs 1.92 crore (ex-showroom).
Visually, the Cayenne Coupe looks similar to the regular SUV until you reach the rear quarter. The Cayenne Coupe has a roofline which is 20mm lower than the standard SUV and the A-pillar has also been made shallower, accentuating the sloping roofline. Porsche is also offering two different roof concept on the Cayenne Coupe – a panoramic glass roof as standard or an optional carbon fiber roof.
The coupe SUV also gets Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) where the spoiler extends by 135 mm at speeds of 90 kmph and up, increasing the contact pressure on the rear axle, while PAA simultaneously enhances efficiency. Not every manufacturer has been able to give a Coupe SUV the best proportions but Porsche has done a very good job with design of the Cayenne Coupe.
Porsche has listed three versions of the Coupe SUV on their India website – Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne Turbo Coupe, Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe. The base Cayenne Coupe will be powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine with 340PS and 450Nm. It can sprint the SUV from 0-100 kph in just 6 seconds and has a top-speed of 243 kph. Meanwhile, the Cayenne Coupe Turbo is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine developing 550PS and 770Nm. With this engine, the Cayenne Coupe will do the 0-100 kph sprint in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 286 kmph. Both the engines come paired up with an 8-speed automatic gearbox which is not a PDK unit. As for the E-hybird, it develops around 469PS of power.

The cabin of the Cayenne Coupe is however identical to that of the standard Cayenne. The dashboard is dominated by a large infotainment screen and the center console has been redesigned with a haptic touch control surface. The instrument cluster gets a typical analog tachometer with two high-definition screens on either side. Another typical Porsche element is the analog clock on the dashboard.
