Peugeot E-Ludix scooter has been spotted testing in Pune, which is the electric version of the company’s 50cc petrol scooter.
It seems like Mahindra two-wheelers is taking an interest in the electric scooter scenario in the global markets. A couple of months back, we spotted the Genz-E electric scooter testing, and now Peugeot E-Ludix.
Scooters from the Italian company are widely sold in the European countries. E-Ludix is the electric version of the 50cc petrol powered Ludix scooter. It is a compact electric scooter, developed for college students mainly.
FYI, Mahindra has a 51% stake in Peugeot motorcycles. While the company sells scooters ranging from 50cc to 300cc, it is currently developing electric scooters. Its lineup includes many sporty scooters, retro styled scooters and trikes too.

E-Ludix gets a simple compact styling with headlamps on the front apron, turn indicators on the handlebar, twin-spoke alloy wheels and an odd looking slim body. The front apron looks like a crescent moon.
Features onboard will include a large TFT colour instrument panel that will display information such as speed, riding range, remaining battery and much more. It will be smartphone integrated to show a list of advanced telematics.
We suspect these scooters to be specially built for restaurant chains for delivery, minor college goers and government offices for their intra-campus commuting.

Peugeot E-Ludix gets a last-generation Bosch electric motor with Lithium-ion batteries that produce up to 3 kW. The riding range offered on this scooter is 50 kms. A good thing offered is the braking energy recovery system.
The battery takes 3 hours to charge fully, even by an external charger. The battery is detachable and weighs 9 Kgs roughly.
For suspension purposes, E-Ludix uses USD forks at the front and a side positioned monoshock at the back. Braking is handled by a disc at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
