In a rather hilarious incident, people spot the upcoming Mahindra BE Rall.e but confuse it for Lamborghini Urus and Tata Curvv. BE refers to the Born Electric range of upcoming electric cars from Mahindra. The timeframe is set until 2026 to launch as many as 5 electric SUVs. Out of these, four BE models are planned which will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO architecture – BE05, BE07, BE09 and BE Rall.e. These SUVs mark the future of the Indian auto giant which aims to launch these products for the global markets.
Mahindra BE Rall.e Spotted
This video comes from autojournal_india on Instagram. There seems to be a family driving in their car which has recorded the footage of this camouflaged electric SUV. The location is clearly somewhere in the mountains. The SUV is trailing behind a truck for some time. As soon as the driver spots an opportunity, he/she accelerates and overtakes the truck in a flash. The people inside the car behind the EV are evidently surprised and impressed by the brisk acceleration. They are heard saying that this could be the upcoming Tata Curvv. Previously, people have mistaken the Curvv or the Rall.e for a Lamborghini Urus as well. The broad tail end and camouflage could make things confusing for someone who is not well-versed with the automobiles.
The BE Rall.e bears a coupe silhouette, inspired by the BE05 electric SUV. I have been reporting about the BE05 testing in the upper reaches of the Himalayas for a long time now. With EVs, the batteries are heavily dependent on the atmospheric temperature. Therefore, carmakers need to test these in extreme climatic conditions to ensure that the performance of the electric car doesn’t get affected severely. Hence, we understand why we see the upcoming EVs from Mahindra being tested in hardcore mountains. Not to mention, the driving dynamics are also calibrated in such a way that the car is able to maintain ride quality and handling appropriately in hilly terrains.
Our View
The Mahindra BE Rall.e will likely be launched in our market by 2026. Prior to that, we will get the BE05 on which it will be based. Mahindra is evidently bullish on the entire electric revolution. At the moment, Tata Motors is the leader in India when it comes to electric car sales. However, going forward, Mahindra will try to push the envelope and offer as many as five new EVs within the next couple of years. With such an EV onslaught, customers are bound to experience the excitement of new electric cars in India. I see a massive boom of electric mobility in our market in times to come.
