Yet another case has emerged where a parked Mahindra XUV700 catches fire for no apparent reason. As the summer season intensifies in India, we are witnessing cases of automobile fires relatively frequently. There are generally some reasons why a vehicle catches fire including aftermarket car modifications, poor maintenance, accidents, etc. But it is also possible, although rarely, that a car is engulfed in flames due to manufacturing flaws. In any case, we can shortlist a few possible reasons for this and even look at some measures we could take to ensure our safety.
Parked Mahindra XUV700 Catches Fire
Common Causes of Fire in Car:
- Poor Maintenance
- Parking in Risky Environment
- Aftermarket Accessories
- Accidents
- Manufacturing Defect
This post comes from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. As per the information in the video, a parked Mahindra XUV700 caught fire without any particular reason. There are no details about the specifics of this case. It just mentions that the parked SUV caught fire for some odd reason. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I am reporting a case of an automobile catching fire without any apparent cause. The visuals capture the SUV completely engulfed in flames from the front. In fact, the source of the fire is from the engine bay. The side and rear sections of the XUV700 are unaffected for the time being. We are not sure about the final outcome of this fire although it looks pretty likely that the vehicle was totally damaged.
There are many reasons for fires in a car. These include things like aftermarket car modifications at unauthorized dealerships, ignoring the signs of leaking fluids, improper maintenance of the car, parking in the wrong spot in extremely hot weather, etc. Therefore, we can’t blame the car or the carmaker. However, you must always keep an eye out for any leaking fluids, ensure that you don’t visit a car customization shop, and perform timely maintenance services so that the vehicle remains in top condition.
Our View
While a few aspects might be out of your control, I believe you can do a lot to keep your vehicle in a healthy condition. Indian summers are known for being extremely hot. We have most places where temperatures easily go above 45 degrees Celsius. Therefore, if the car is parked outside for long durations without anyone attending to it, things could take an ugly turn. Also, if there are any accidents and the fluids coming out of the car, it can also lead to fires. Therefore, I would like to advise our readers to be mindful of these possibilities so that you don’t have to face the terrible consequences later on.
