In a strange turn of events, an aftermarket car modification house is offering a panoramic sunroof for the 2024 Maruti Swift. There were expectations that the fourth-generation Swift would come with a sunroof from the factory. However, that didn’t happen. But modern aftermarket car shops have access and contacts with suppliers from all over the globe to customize any car. Furthermore, they have talented workers who can develop pretty much anything in-house. This latest case looks like a scenario belonging to the latter.
Panoramic Sunroof for 2024 Maruti Swift
This post comes from sainimotorsrohtak on Instagram. The car shop owner is heard telling his viewers that there are tons of custom sunroofs available at his shop. He mentions that one could even get a panoramic sunroof for Scorpio N and other vehicles. However, what interests us the most is the option of installing a panoramic sunroof on a Maruti Swift. He shows the cutouts, which perhaps, he has constructed at his workshop. But I can’t say anything for sure. In fact, they could have even come off the roofs of scraped vehicles. In this case, such a fitment will lead to a huge compromise in safety. Fixing a panoramic sunroof at such a mod shop will affect the overall strength of the roof panel. This, in turn, will make the car unsafe.
Interestingly, the video host even says that these could be fitted on the Hyundai i20 as well. It fascinates me beyond measure what these car shops can achieve these days. The Swift, meanwhile, has been off to a great start. Last month, it outsold the Tata Punch to become the highest-selling car in the country. The latest-gen Swift also marks the local debut of Suzuki’s 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated Z12E petrol engine. This motor churns out a decent 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. This time around, the mileage figures are mighty impressive – 24.8 km/l with the manual and 25.75 km/l with the AMT. The prices range from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.65 lakh, ex-showroom.

Our View
I have written about countless instances of aftermarket car modifications. Hence, I would like to advise our readers to stay away from unprofessional mechanics and car shops. Installing a sunroof required a detailed process including cutting and welding. These compromise the integrity of the build quality of the vehicle by tampering with the body. Therefore, it is never a good idea to alter the natural components of any car. Moreover, most car modifications are illegal in India. Hence, you could get in trouble with the law at some point in time.
