Maruti Suzuki vehicles are notorious for being not entirely strong in terms of the built. Here is yet another proof from an owner who has driven the Baleno for 5 years.
A Maruti Baleno owner talks candidly about the build quality of his premium hatchback. Baleno has recently achieved an impressive sales milestone of selling 10 lakh (1 million) units in just 6 years of its launch. These are some extraordinary numbers that only a Maruti Suzuki car could achieve. The premium hatchback takes on the likes of Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and VW Polo in our market at the moment. The Altroz is the only one in the segment to boast a full 5-star safety rating at the GNCAP. Let us take a look at what the owner has to say about the overall ownership experience of the Baleno.

Baleno Owner Exposes Build Quality
The video starts with the owner talking about the modifications that he has made to his car. The exterior of the Baleno has been painted dark black in a matte finish. The front bumper has been borrowed from the RS variant of the Baleno. The front grille has been covered in black material. On the inside, the A, B and C-pillars have also been covered in black shade. One of the highlights of the interiors is the star lights on the roof. This has become quite common in modifications and has been inspired by Rolls Royce. All the silver bits inside the cabin have also been turned black. The owner specifically mentions that he doesn’t face any issues related to the engine. The mileage has also been great. He has installed 18-inch stylish alloys with a raised suspension setup.

In terms of the build quality, however, the owner is anything but satisfied. He recalls that when his friends used to stand against the vehicle, some parts of the body would bulge in. This is particularly true around the sides and fender area. This is quite surprising considering the price segment that the Baleno sits in. Also, the owner has done complete damping of the car to make it a bit sturdy. But the side door area is still a bit flimsy. This is a first-hand ownership experience of the build quality of the Baleno by its owner of 5 years.
