Overspeeding Causes 28 Times More Accidents Than Drunk Driving
As per the official data for 2021, overspeeding took over 87,000 lives across the country. In comparison, drunk driving was responsible for just over 2,900 casualties in the same year. Now, we must understand, that in the case of driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, people invariably tend to overspeed and break all traffic and safety rules. Since they are not in their senses to control the vehicle at high speeds, accidents are a natural consequence. We have heard such news repeatedly. That is why we must take road regulations seriously.

A major reason why people overspeed is that they don’t have the fear of consequences. The Traffic Police officials are easily bribed and people have that negative image associate with them. They know that they will be able to get away with almost anything. Simply by offering some money to the authorities, at least the minor traffic violations can be taken care of.

However, such attitude is what is causing people to be bold/stupid enough to ignore the results caused by overspeeding. Often times, other people get involved in such situations for no fault of theirs. That is the worst part about road accidents. However, if you are driving within the speed limits, at least you could be in a position to avoid such drivers who are driving under the influence of chemicals. Therefore, we would advise all our readers to always follow traffic regulations and encourage everyone to do so. For the miscreants, make sure to report them to the authorities.
