Tata Safari Travelling at 130 km/h Crashes into Truck Trailer
As you can see in the YouTube video by Creative Mahi Rajput, the Tata Safari got into a terrible accident on the highway. It was traveling at 130 km/h when it crashed into the rear of a truck trailer. The pictures of the aftermath look horrific. The impact was so strong that the rear axle of the trailer came off the body. The Tata Safari is completely destroyed on the front. There is severe damage to the vehicle’s A-pillar. However, the cabin was mostly intact and all three passengers in the vehicle were safe after the incident.
While exact details are not yet out, only one passenger suffered some injuries. It is quite likely that wearing seatbelts saved them from the high-speed crash. Due to heavy impact, the frame of the vehicle was mangled. You can even see people struggling to open the door to get the passengers out. Unlike previous accidents of Tata Safari and the Harrier, the door frames were breached. It is a miracle that all three passengers came out alive. Once again, Tata Motors has proved its reputation for offering safe cars.

The Tata Safari is yet to be tested by G-NCAP. The company has never sent the Harrier and the Safari to get a safety rating. Several speculations about the same have also emerged online. Apparently, part Multijet engine in the Tata Harrier and the Safari can intrude into the cabin of the RHD cars and injure the driver. Still, the build quality of the SUV remains quite impressive. Both Tata Safari and Tata Harrier are based on the same Omega-Arc platform and are powered by the same engine options.

Crash Tests to Become Mandatory
It is to be noted that the above-mentioned incident could have easily had serious outcomes. The quality of Indian roads varies from place to place. Also, random objects might appear out of nowhere (animals, kids, potholes, etc). As a result, thousands of people lose their lives in avoidable accidents every year. Hence overspeeding is a clear no-no. You should follow traffic rules and report anyone driving recklessly to the authorities. It is very important to be mindful while driving.
Additionally, this accident once again stresses the importance of safe driving habits. It is advisable to invest in a safe car with good build quality and safety equipment. The Tata cars are known for their great build and solid safety features. This has increased awareness among customers and motivated other brands to raise their game. The Indian government also plans to make crash safety tests mandatory in the future. All the manufacturers might have to send the new cars for crash tests to get a safety star rating.
