The application for the EV trademark in India by OnePlus has been rejected. There are many players who are trying to get into the EV space in the Indian automobile industry. With the fuel prices skyrocketing and the emission norms becoming ever-so stringent, the shift to electric powertrains looks imminent. India is one of the fastest-growing and largest automobile markets in the world. The potential for growth in our market is immense. Therefore, every major global player wants to position itself appropriately to grab a large chunk of the pie. In a bid to do that, OnePlus tried to get into the EV space in India and had filled an application to register its trademark. However, it has not been approved. OnePlus EV Trademark Rejected

For the Vivo, the status readds opposed which means it hasn’t been rejected but there are other issues with it. RealMe and Poco have received approvals for their trademarks in India. The goods and services description implies that they can get into electric vehicles, vehicles for locomotion by land, air, water or rail, anti-theft devices for automobiles, self-balancing scooters and much more. This suggests the wide variety of products aimed by these two brands in the future. The EV industry is growing rapidly and all these products and services could be of great significance in times to come.

The details of the OnePlus includes products like driverless cars (autonomous cars), self-balancing scooters, self-balancing boards, remote control vehicles other than toys, trolleys, automobile tyres, civilian drones and more. Clearly, OnePlus aims at an even wider range of products and wants to enter other industries as well. That makes sense because it is already a well-established name in the consumer electronics space. It would ideally want to leverage that to pivot to some other aspects of that particular industry like civilian drones too. Deducing even more details from these applications, one gets a clear drift of where these players think the industry is headed. Also, they are trying to get into various aspects of the industry which has a future as mass-products. But for now, the trademark for the OnePlus EV has been rejected in India. They might file another application with some rectifications.
