In the latest car modification, an old Toyota Fortuner has been converted into a Legender. Note that Legender is the top-end model in the Fortuner lineup. Fortuner is the most popular 7-seat off-roading SUV in the country. This is especially true after the departure of Ford Endeavour from our market back in September 2021. Now, there are reports of Ford making a comeback to India with the new Everest. Until then, there is barely any competition to the Fortuner. Let us take a look at the specifics of this impressive customization.
Old Toyota Fortuner Converted into Legender
This video comes from Raahee on YouTube. The vlogger takes the viewers for a walkaround tour of this unique Fortuner from the outside and inside. In all fairness, one can’t easily point out any elements which give away its true age and identity. That is because the car house has used the original components of the Legender to construct this SUV. At the front, there are new headlamps, bumper, bonnet, grille, etc. On the sides, this SUV comes with original Legender fenders, alloy wheels, tyres, side steps, door panels, side body skirting, quarter glass, roof rails, door handles, etc. At the rear, it gets new LED taillamps with illuminated Fortuner lettering, a roof-mounted spoiler, chrome inserts on the boot lid and bumper and more.
Things get even more interesting on the inside. The car house has installed a brand new dashboard which is borrowed from the Legender. Apart from that, the steering wheel is new too. A large touchscreen display takes centre stage. It contains all the in-car functions like HVAC and multimedia which are also operational from the steering controls. Furthermore, there is a brand new audio system with hardcore components to enhance the sound quality. What also helps is the soundproofing done on the doors. Even the seats are brand new along with seat covers. There is the use of soft-touch materials to enhance the premium quotient.
Author’s Note
Going for aftermarket car modifications can be tricky due to the laws around it. Most car customizations are illegal in India. Hence, the traffic Police personnel can stop and fine you. Not only that, you will be asked to remove all such components which violate the regulations. Therefore, we don’t advise anyone to opt for these. However, if it is for a passion project and you don’t intend to take it out on public roads, then it is fine. But then again, if you don’t use it, there is not much sense in spending a fortune on such detailed modifications.
