In Maharashtra, Ola Electric customers shut down a showroom. The electric scooter customers were angry about the company’s service.
Since the initial announcement, Ola Electric has stayed in the news cycle for varied reasons. While there was a huge demand for the company’s electric scooters, the customer response shifted once deliveries started. Multiple defects with the new Ola Electric EVs have constantly surfaced and many complaints have been lodged against their scooters. Now, a group of frustrated customers forced the company to shut down a showroom.

As you can see in the above video, a group of Ola Electric customers gathered at the company’s showroom in Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra. After a face-off ended, the company was forced to shut down the showroom. As per reports, multiple electric scooter owners had concerns about extended repair durations and lengthy waiting hours. They also noted that Ola Electric’s extended warranty and Care+ program offer no real benefits.
Similar issues were reported with the company’s Roadside Assistance program. In this instance, the roadside assistance program was found to be non-functional. Another picture showed a large number of defective scooters at the service centre. Customers alleged that the service centre lacks the necessary equipment to effectively solve their problems. They blamed Suraj Man, the Service Manager at the Ola Service Centre in Ichalkaranji.

Ola Service Center and Roadside Assistance
Ola Electric aimed to offer their electric scooters directly to customers. However, they ended up establishing multiple service centres and experience zones. Instead of dealerships, these Experience Zones allow customers to experience the company’s products in person. The company has also set up more than 200 service centres that also offer roadside assistance which are supposed to help customers facing road-related issues promptly, within a few hours. However, there have been many complaints about the company’s poor service. Meanwhile, Ola Electric is planning to bring electric motorcycles to India.
