Okinawa i-Praise electric scooter has been launched in India at a price of Rs 1.15 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete with the likes of Ather 340 and 450.
Okinawa i-Praise electric scooter makes its debut in India as the most premium offering from the brand. Its feature highlight includes a detachable lithium-ion battery.
The bookings for the scooter opened up in mid-December for a period of 30 days. The first batch of Okinawa i-Praise electric scooter consisted of only 500 units. The next batch will be available later depending upon the bookings.
In the first 15 days itself, total 450 bookings were made for the scooter. The first customer of the scooter is Indian Navy. The scooter is priced at Rs 1.15 Lakhs, making it one of the most expensive ones currently.

Okinawa i-Praise gets a lithium-ion battery, while the regular Praise gets lead acid battery. It gets a detachable battery which can be charged with the help of a 5A Power socket. With this, the scooter can be charged at places without a charging station.
The total range of the scooter is 160-180 kms. The charging time of the scooter is around 2-3 hours. The overall weight of the scooter is lesser than other Electric scooter in this segment by 30-40%.
Okinawa i-Praise also offers an app available on Google Play, which shows information such as Geo-Fencing, Virtual-Speed Limit, Curfew Hours, Battery health tracker, SOS Notifications, Continous Monitoring, Trips, Direction and Vehicle Status.

The fully digital instrument cluster shows the ignition, battery health, speed, remaining riding range and immobilization mode.
Okinawa i-Praise is available in glossy red black, glossy golden black and glossy silver black colour options.
It competes with the likes of Ather 340 and 450, which are priced at Rs 1.09 Lakhs and Rs 1.25 Lakhs, respectively. However, these scooters offer a lesser riding range of 85 kms and 107 kms each.

Ather scooters get many more features like LED headlamps and a touchscreen digital instrument cluster. Also, the scooter has been made to look a bit futuristic.
