Maruti showcased the iconic and much-anticipated Jimny in the 5-door guise for the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2023 and the launch is just around the corner.
This video talks about the right tyre upgrade and other off-road mods for the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Jimny has been a veteran moniker in the international markets for decades now. In fact, the Indian off-roading enthusiasts were a bit frustrated with the largest carmaker in the country for not having introduced the Jimny for all these years. But it is finally here and in the practical 5-door version. It has started arriving at the dealerships with the official launch and price announcements about to follow soon.

Tyre Upgrade and Mods on Maruti Jimny
The video has been uploaded by TreadTrails on YouTube. The host is an avid off-roading lover and has already booked the manual and automatic versions of the Jimny. Interestingly, he talks about the fact that the first modification that a lot of enthusiasts will make is to get rid of the stock tyres and install hardcore off-roading tyres from the aftermarket. He suggests a couple of options in the 15-inch category (the stock tyre size is also 15-inch) but they are a bit wider and have unique treads to maximize grip off the tarmac.

But the one that is completely hardcore and needs other modifications to get installed is the 17-incher which has the profile 265 75 R17 AT. This fills up the entire wheel arch which is why it needs a proper kit with all the modifications so as to not affect the SUV negatively in any way. The Ironman lift kit comes with 4 dampers, 4 springs, 1 steering damper, a component with which you would align your front differential, shaft spacers, extended brake lines, and another component to adjust your headlamp level among others.

You see how many parts are needed to lift a car and it is not just about lifting the car using the bigger tyres and springs. Therefore, we advise our readers to either not modify the tyres beyond a certain limit or get it done by professionals. Also, you must check the mods that you are about to do with the rules of your local RTO. Most modifications are illegal in India. The YouTuber also says that there is plenty of space inside the Jimny even though it might not appear so at first glance.
