The caption on Instagram reads, “Nusrat Bharucha’s car boot had a ‘baggage’ of trouble, leaving her ‘jet-set’ star-spotted and ‘confused’ at the airport. Her car is next gen Herbie.” This is a reference to the movie about a car doing things on its own. In fact, the popular Indian movie, Taarzan: The Wonder Car is based on Herbie. Being a BMW guarantees top-notch performance, and the iX exemplifies this. It’s equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack that powers two electric motors, delivering an all-wheel-drive setup. This setup generates a total system output of 326 hp and 630 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The claimed WLTP range is an impressive 425 km. Even though it’s a hefty SUV, the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is a commendable 6.1 seconds, thanks in part to its remarkable drag coefficient of 0.25. With the use of a 150 kW DC fast charger, you can achieve an additional 95 km of range in just 10 minutes. It is priced at around Rs 1.2 Crore, ex-showroom.
