Nushrratt Bharuccha with her Mahindra Thar
The post has been shared by voompla on Instagram. The video clip captures the actress standing on the driver’s side of the Thar. As the paparazzi approach her for some photos, she waves at them and poses for a few clicks. After that, she boards the SUV and is seen fastening the seatbelt. She sits in the driver’s seat and is ready to drive the SUV. The appeal and road presence of the Thar might have prompted her to buy the SUV.

Mahindra Thar comes with 2 engine options, a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, and a 2-litre turbo-petrol. In the current-gen model, the oil burner makes 130 PS/320 Nm of peak figures while the petrol makes 150 PS/320 Nm of max figures. Transmission options for both the powertrains are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with a low-range box. You also get a transfer case and a mechanically locking centre differential. The prices range from Rs 13.59 lakh and Rs 16.29 lakh, ex-showroom.

The 5-door version of the Thar has been spotted testing multiple times and the launch might well be around the corner. It aims to remedy the practicality concerns a lot of people have with the existing 3-door Thar. At the moment, only 4 people can sit in the SUV and the boot space is almost non-existent. But with the bigger and roomier 5-door Thar, these issues will be taken care of. What are your thoughts on this?
