In a shocking video, a social media influencer is seen drinking on a busy road for which a non-bailable warrant has been issued against him. Bobby Kataria is a popular influencer who has over 6,35,000 followers on Instagram alone. His posts are followed and liked by a ton of people. However, the social media game can be a bit complicated when one loses the sense of responsibility. While it is a great tool to engage with the audience, it comes with its own set of challenges too. Warrant Issued Against An Influencer For Drinking on Road
Bobby Kataria filmed himself sitting on a chair in the middle of the road in Dehradun. What is worse is that he is seen pouring a drink for himself while he has placed the eatables on the tiny table in front of him. The traffic seems to be blocked as it is the middle of the day on a busy road. The caption of his post reads, “Thoda Sadakon Par Enjoy Hojaye”. This translates to “Let’s have some fun on the roads”.

Needless to say, this is a criminal offence on various counts. Firstly, consumption of liquor in public places is illegal and blocking a road intentionally is also a grave offence. Resultantly, Ashok Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP) in Uttarakhand filed a case against the influencer under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He shared the same via a Twitter post from the official Uttarakhand Police handle. It is great to see that the Police are so active in taking quick decisions after people are publicly flouting the rules.

Earlier, Bobby was booked by the Police for lighting a cigarette on a plane. Therefore, he is not foreign to such mischievous activities. It is quite disappointing and scary that people are not at all afraid of the judicial system and police and purposefully make a mockery of rules and regulations. Not to mention, he has such a massive social media following. What kind of impression is he leaving on them? We hope that the investigation is completed soon and appropriate action is taken.
