Nissan is well contented with the appreciable success achieved by Nissan Micra and is busy celebrating the first anniversary of its global small car Micra. But besides the celebration part the Japanese manufacturer is also building ways to introduce Nissan Sunny sedan in the Indian market.
The only issue regarding the car is of a new India specific name, that the brand is supposed to come up with in the next two weeks along with the specifications. The name Sunny was kept for the Chinese market and it is the second car to be based on Nissan V-Platform, since Nissan Micra is the first one.
Dr Andy Palmer, executive vice-president, Nissan Motor Company told Financial Chronicle, “The new sedan for the Indian market will be completely different and details about the same will be announced in the next two weeks,”
The car will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan facility at Orgadam near Chennai and in the meanwhile Nissan will be taking some initiatives in order to create awareness about the car which will eventually aid its sales.
He added, “We will come out with some initiatives in the next few months for improving awareness and brand building. One major challenge for Micra is lack of awareness about the product, which is well-accepted in several markets globally,”
We hope the car to come soon as it is awaited for a long while and we also hope the future initiatives to help boost the brand’s sales.
