The Nissan Micra has been launched with better equipment and safety features. It received an update long back and was one of the premium compact hatchbacks left without any latest updates. Currently, Nissan has the Terrano, Micra, and Sunny in its lineup. Nissan has cross-badged with Renault for selling cars in India. The Micra was similar to the Renault Pulse. Amongst the three cars in its lineup, Micra was popular than the other two models. The latest iteration gets most of the latest features and now fits in the competition of its segment. It gets updates such as a new touchscreen infotainment, Auto AC and more. For safety, it gets Dual-Airbags and reverse parking sensors with a camera.

The 2018 Nissan Micra gets a 6.2-inch Touchscreen AVN with phone mirroring. However, it misses out on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include Boomerang shaped headlamps, Rain-sensing wipers, Lead Me To Car headlights, Keyless Entry, Steering Wheel Mounted Controls, Automatic AC and turn indicators on the electric ORVMs.
For safety, it gets dual-airbags, speed sensing door locks, driver seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors and speed warning device as standard across all variants. The higher variants are also equipped with a rear parking camera, ABS Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).

The Nissan Micra uses a 1.2 Litre Petrol and 1.5 Litre Diesel engine. The petrol engine churns out 75 BHP @ 6000 RPM of power and 104 Nm @ 4400 RPM of torque. The diesel engine produces 64 BHP of power and 160 Nm of torque. The petrol variant is available only in a 5-speed CVT and the diesel variant gets only 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol variant gives a claimed mileage of 19 KMPL and the diesel one gives around 23 KMPL.

The prices of all the variants are under revision and are not updated on their websites.

Now, coming to its competition, it goes with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago, Honda Brio and Ford Figo. Brio and Figo are still awaiting their upgrades, which are due till next year. However, the two biggies of this group, Swift and i10 get some more premium features than the Micra. However, Micra is a lot less priced than the Swift.
