The upcoming Nissan Magnite has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage near its home plant. The subcompact SUV will be launched in January.
Nissan recently unveiled the Magnite as a concept version, ahead of its launch in January 2021. The upcoming subcompact SUV has been spotted testing near its home plant in Chennai. While the Magnite has been spied a couple of times earlier as well, this time, its the top-spec fully loaded trim that has been spotted.
As you can see here, it gets a new alloy wheel design which was not seen on any other Nissan car recently. Then there’s an integrated rear roof spoiler, rear washer and wiper and the radio antenna mounted towards the spoiler. There won’t be a shark fin antenna coming, which is considered a small but premium feature now.

If you see the unveiling images, the Nissan Magnite gets its front grille identical to Datsun Redi-GO. However, overall, it somehow passes a smaller and similar version of the Kicks. For example, the Magnite gets a hunch on the back which is quite similar to the Kicks. That said, the design cues are completely modern and for some extent, the best of Nissan in India.
Nissan plans to launch this sub compact SUV at a very aggressive pricing, undercutting the prices of other SUVs in the space. Reports say that the top-end variant of Magnite will go to as high as just Rs 6 Lakhs. That indicates that the starting price would be around Rs 4.5 Lakhs, similar to that of Maruti WagonR.
The top-spec variant will come with features such as alloy wheels, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Internet car technology, electric sunroof, cruise control and automatic AC. These features are well enough to make it a feature-rich SUV, going against the likes of best sellers like Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
