Nissan Magnite Airbags Issue in Accident
A certain Vishal Khattry took to Facebook to express his frustration with Nissan. He reports that he and his wife were involved in a crash at over 70 km/h. However, the airbags didn’t deploy. The condition of the car is visible in the images. The entire front section of the vehicle is in a dilapidated condition. This must surely have triggered the front airbag sensors. The owner had to follow this up with the dealership for over 2 months which created a lot of mental harassment. Also, the couple got injured in this crash leading to massive physical trauma.

Promising to investigate why the airbags didn’t get deployed, Nissan even sent the ACU (Airbag Control Unit) to Romania for further analysis. However, the response that came from the carmaker after 2 months was that the impact was not strong enough to trigger the airbag sensors. This left the owner flabbergasted and irritated beyond measure. He seeks an explanation and compensation for this failure of airbags and the harassment this case caused him for over 2 months in addition to being physically injured.

What We Think
We can’t comment much on this case since we are not familiar with the details of the accident. At times, it is possible that the car topples over and there is no frontal collision which prevents the airbags from getting deployed. However, in this case, it sure looks like there is enough damage to the front section of the Magnite for the airbag to be triggered. We can only hope that Nissan looks into this matter seriously and resolves its customer’s issues so that people get confidence before buying Nissan cars. Otherwise, things could spiral out of control quite quickly.
