It was a moment of content for Nissan when it showcased the Nissan Evalia at the 2012 Auto Expo. Although we were expecting the launch of this new MPV, Nissan did the unveiling only and the official launch is yet to happen.
The Evalia drew a lot of attention of the general public as well as the media not because of the fact that Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor unveiled it but because of the presence it had on stage. The good build quality was sensed from a distance and making it more attractive was the conservative yet meaningful styling.

As per the latest piece of information, Evalia is moving to the final stage of development shortly, which means that the production of the same is going to begin soon. The production will begin in August 2012, at company’s Oragadam plant in Chennai.
Initially, in all hope, the company will be bringing a diesel engine variant of the same while a petrol version might come soon after the former. The Evalia a.k.a Nissan NV200 is a successful product overseas and it is expected to do wonders here too. Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra’s frugal diesel engine is expected to come with Evalia as well, thereby making it a value for money buy.
The recently covered Ashok Leyland Stile MPV is based on the Evalia and features a distinctive front fascia and body graphics and would be a cheaper alternative, but the former has much less to offer on the interiors.
Nissan promises to bring interesting features like intelligent key and rear view camera in the car and will also retune the K9K diesel engine to deliver 90 to 100 BHP of max power needed for this big car.
