We were all hoping that during the 2012 Auto Expo Nissan would launch the much awaited Nissan NV200 in India. Although it did not turn out to be true completely, Nissan has launched a 7 seater MPV Nissan Evalia at the expo. If looks are to be analyzed, the car resembles the NV200 too much and in fact it is the same but with a different name here.
The Evalia is far from new age MPVs and has got a conservative look but Nissan assures that it is of way more utility than the other ongoing models. The Evalia features a combination of space, style and practicality together making it the ideal vehicle for larger families.

Gilles Normand, Nissan Corporate Vice President, Africa, Middle East and India said,“EVALIA is compact, easy to drive and extremely practical but it has the added benefits of comfortable seating for up to seven”

The Evalia is based on Nissan’s B-Platform and is an India specific model whose production will start in second half of 2012 at the company’s state-of-the-art new factory near Chennai. Unlike other MPVs the car does not have hinged doors and instead has sliding rear doors to ensure practicality.
