The Japanese carmaker has some huge plans for India in the coming couple of years, including new products and updates for the existing ones
Nissan will launch 2 new models for India, including a 7-seater B-MPV and a 5-seater C-SUV. This is in line with its plans of having 4 products for the Indian customers by FY26. At its Global Product Showcase Event in Yokohama, Japan, Nissan unveiled plans for a 7-seater B-MPV and a 5-seater C-SUV. These new additions align with the company’s strategy to cater to high-demand segments while strengthening its position in India. Let us delve into the details of the two upcoming products.
Nissan Announces 2 New Models For India
Nissan officially shared glimpses of the new cars. The B-MPV is scheduled to launch in FY25 and is designed to appeal to families and value-conscious buyers. It will prioritize space, comfort, and practicality, making it a strong contender against existing models in the segment. Interestingly, the MPV will boast a muscular styling in line with Nissan’s distinct design philosophy. The company has emphasized that passenger comfort will be a top priority, ensuring that all three rows offer ample space without compromising on ride quality. With its value-for-money proposition, Nissan aims to attract new buyers.
On the other hand, the 5-seater C-SUV will arrive in early FY26. Nissan says that it will carry inspiration from the iconic Patrol. The latter is a famed global SUV which has a massive following and demand. The C-SUV will be packed with cutting-edge features and advanced proprietary technologies to ensure a premium experience for drivers and passengers. As a matter of fact, the SUV will even possess decent off-roading capabilities with a high approach and departure angle. Both these vehicles will be manufactured at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai.
My View
Nissan clearly aims at expanding its portfolio not just for the Indian market but also for exports. India will be a crucial production hub for the Japanese auto giant. The upcoming C-SUV will also follow Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy, meaning it will be built in India and exported to global markets. Let us keep an eye out for more details about these two cars, along with the other upcoming products and how well these entice the Indian car buyers.
