The next generation model of the Maruti Swift is about to arrive. Firstly, we will witness a global debut, most likely next month (October 2023). The India debut will take place sometime early next year (2024). Swift is among the most successful hatchbacks Maruti Suzuki has ever produced. This is true not just for the Indian market but at the global stage. However, since the company has kept refreshing the Swift at regular intervals, the potential buyers have never lost interest in it. October 2023 Debut
Firstly, we will be able to experience the new Swift around October at the 2023 Japanese Motor Show. That is not far away which is exciting. As mentioned previously, we will be able to experience it in the flesh early next year. That should not be a problem either since the existing model is selling decently.

Evolved Look
There have been plenty of digital renditions and spy images of the upcoming Maruti Swift. While there is nothing drastically different, we will get a much more evolved appearance. This includes design elements from all corners of the hatchback including the front and rear profile, as well as the interior. Hence, it will command a sporty road presence.

Same 1.2-litre K12 Petrol Engine
While there might not be any change to the existing 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine, it is not a bad thing at all. Maruti has tons of products in its portfolio which carry some form of this engine. In fact, this mill is an all-rounder. It offers decent performance, high efficiency and high mileage. The overall running and maintenance costs are not all that high either.

No EV Version in Pipeline
We must confess that it is a bit surprising to know that there is no EV version of this iconic hatchback in the pipeline. As all major carmakers announce their ambitious plans to go electric, a prominent product like the Swift could’ve ensured success in its electric avatar too, leveraging its existing success. But there are no plans to launch an electric Swift anytime soon.
