Next Gen Verna Launch on August 22

Hyundai will launch the next gen Verna in India on August 22. The new-generation 2017 Verna will completely replace the current model. It will offer an all-new design, a more spacious cabin, many more features and updated engines. The next gen Verna is likely to launch at a starting price of Rs 9 lakh. The 2017 Hyundai Verna will offer two engine options – a 1.6 litre Dual VTVT petrol and a 1.6 litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel. Both these engines will offer manual and automatic transmissions. It’s noteworthy here that the current Verna has been facing a lot of heat from fresher models like the Maruti Ciaz and the Honda City facelift. The next gen Hyundai Verna will now help its manufacturer re-establish a strong foothold in the segment.

Next Gen Verna Launch Date

Next Gen Verna Price in India

While the official price list will be revealed only on the launch date, it’s speculated that prices of the next gen Verna will start at Rs 9 lakh. The top-end model could cost as much as Rs 14 lakh. This will make the next generation of Hyundai’s popular C2 sedan slightly more expensive than the car it’s about to replace. However, we think that the increase in price will be justified through the new design, more interior space, more features, and updated engines. There’s no doubt that the new Verna will be a better car than the current model. Hence, it will be a stronger rival to the Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.

Warranty– As per the manufacturer’s policy, the new Hyundai Verna should offer a basic warranty of 2 years and unlimited kilometres of mileage. Of course, you can purchase extended warranty and road-side assistance package at nominal prices.

Next Gen Verna Specs

While these engines come from the last generation car, they have been updated for application in the next gen Verna. The new car will go on sale with two engine options – 1.6-litre, NA, 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.6-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder Diesel. The petrol engine gets Variable timing technology while the Diesel engine benefits from a variable geometry turbocharger. Both the engines offer a high power and torque outputs. While the petrol motor offers 123 BHP and 155 Nm, the Diesel engine offers 126 BHP and 260 Nm. Both the engines will come mated to 6-speed Manual and Automatic transmissions.

The Next Gen Verna comes with what Hyundai calls ‘SUPER BODY STRUCTURE’. Basically, it’s an Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) body structure made from Hot stamping Applications. This leads to the next generation Verna boasting Best-in-Class body rigidity. The SUPER BODY STRUCTURE ensures adequate weight control thus enhancing both performance and fuel mileage.

Next Gen Verna Mileage

Hyundai India is yet reveal the mileage figures of the new generation Verna. However, like we’ve been saying, the engines for this car come from the last-generation model. Hence, we are not expecing a major change in the mileage. The Petrol models of the 2017 Hyundai Verna are likely to offer a max. mileage of 18 KMPL.
