Digital artists have a thing for rendering unthinkable iterations of familiar automobiles
In this latest occurrence, a famous digital automobile design has come up with a concept depicting the next-gen Maruti Ertiga. Note that Ertiga is the most successful MPV in its class. In fact, it has been the case for a long time now. Remember, there is no next-gen Ertiga planned by Maruti Suzuki for now. That is why we need to rely on these digital artists to, at least, get a glimpse of what the vehicle could look like. Let us delve into the specifics of this case in depth.
Next-Gen Maruti Ertiga Conceptualized
This iteration comes to us courtesy of malvinwsetiawan on Instagram. The artist has taken massive inspiration from the new Dzire. At the front, we see a similar fascia. This includes sleek LED headlamps with a slim strip between them finished in gloss black material. Furthermore, the colossal grille section defines the demeanour of this rendition. On the extreme edges of the bumper, there are compact fog lamps and the sporty bumper definitely elevates its road presence.
On the sides, the MPV gets interesting elements which combine the layout of the MPV with some sedan bits. I particularly like the black side pillars with a black roof giving it a floating roof effect. Also, the subtle creases on the side door panels give a distinct character to the vehicle. Furthermore, the large and elegant alloy wheels look neat too. Even though the tail end is not visible, we get a glimpse which showcases a similar vertical taillamp setup as the existing model. All in all, this would be a great way to update the Maruti Ertiga, should the largest carmaker in the country decide to do it.
Specs
Now, even though this virtual illustration is based on the Dzire, it is not possible that it will even carry the same powertrain. In fact, it could continue with what the current Ertiga and Brezza get – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options. However, since Maruti has been focusing on hybrid technology and offers it in the Grand Vitara, we could even see that mill powering the MPV. In any case, I appreciate the creativity of the artist to develop something so compelling.
