The upcoming next-gen Maruti Dzire has been digitally rendered by a prominent artist. It gets a stylized rear end which enhances the overall demeanour of the compact sedan. I have reported about the successful sedan being spotted while testing on Indian roads on many occasions in the last few months. It has been one of the most successful sedans in the country for the longest time. First introduced in India back in 2008, it found application among private owners, as well as fleet operators. We recently received the new-gen Swift which now warrants an update to the Dzire too.
Next-gen Maruti Dzire Digitally Rendered
This rendition stems from Theottle on YouTube. The artist has taken a lot of inspiration from the new Swift. At the front, the Dzire gets the fascia of the new Swift. This includes a unique LED headlamp cluster with integrated LED DRLs, a new broad radiator grille, a sporty bumper with a black element to elevate the sportiness, new alloy wheels, a different bonnet layout, black A and B pillars and a relatively uneventful side profile. But what attracted my attention was the rear section. It gets split LED taillamps, a boot lid-mounted spoiler and a redesigned bumper with reflector lights. These components enhance the overall road presence of the Dzire and lend it a new appearance.
Specs
I expect the next-gen Maruti Dzire to carry the same powertrain as the new Swift. This includes a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. This mill churns out a decent 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission duties are carried out by either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. We know that the Indo-Japanese carmaker focuses a lot on ensuring that its cars offer the best-in-segment mileage. In the case of Swift, the AMT version offers 25.75 kmpl, while the MT model has 24.8 kmpl of mileage. I believe the Dzire will offer something similar. The prices of the current-gen Dzire range from Rs 6.57 lakh to Rs 9.39 lakh, ex-showroom. The new Dzire will command a slight premium over these.

Our View
With the kind of success Maruti Dzire has experienced in the past, it is almost a foregone conclusion that the new-gen model will be mighty popular as well. In fact, it will even get some additional features like a sunroof to attract new buyers. Hence, I anticipate a strong response to the Dzire once it launches. Also, since the Swift is already on sale and the test mules of the Dzire have been on the road for quite some time now, the official launch might finally be around the corner. I shall bring more details about the famed sedan as they emerge.
