An aftermarket car accessory shop has already received the LED headlight of the next-gen Maruti Dzire. I have reported stories about the successful sedan spotted testing in recent times on multiple occasions. After the arrival of the 4th generation Swift, its Dzire counterpart is also on its way. The monumental success of the Dzire can be attributed to the fact that it finds application among private buyers, as well as commercial fleet operators. It offers the practicality of a large boot, high mileage and availability of aftersales services across the nation. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Next-Gen Maruti Dzire LED Headlight in Accessory Shop
This video stems from the MRD Cars channel on YouTube. In this video, the host claims that they have the brand new LED headlight of the upcoming next-gen Maruti Dzire even though the vehicle has not been launched yet. Funnily enough, we saw the same situation with Swift too. Due to the supply chain connections, some aftermarket car shops are able to source the parts of the vehicle even before the official launch. The man shows the sleek LED headlamp with integrated LED DRLs. Moreover, he also shows the high beam and low beam functions. Comparing these to what we have seen in the test mule, it certainly looks almost identical.
Maruti Dzire
As has been the case for years, Maruti Dzire shares the powertrain options with the Swift. The new Swift comes with a brand new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates a decent 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. There are options of choosing between either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. However, the biggest talking point of this new mill is its incredible mileage figures of 24.8 kmpl in the manual and 25.75 kmpl in the AMT. Now, I expect these figures to be in this vicinity for the Dzire as well. We will most likely see the CNG mill join the lineup at a later stage.
Specs | 2024 Maruti Dzire (exp.) |
Engine | 1.2-litre 3-cyl Z Series Petrol |
Power | 82 PS |
Torque | 112 Nm |
Transmission | 5MT / AMT |
Mileage | 25.75 kmpl (AMT) / 24.8 kmpl (MT) |
Our View
I have seen impressive aftermarket car modification shops which are able to source spare parts for cars even before the launch. For vehicles of Maruti Suzuki, this is not all that difficult. There is a heavy localization of Maruti cars and the supply chain is so robust that prominent car shops who already have tie-ups with the OEM suppliers are able to get these parts immediately before the vehicle is about to launch. Having said that, I can’t confirm or deny the claims in this video. Hence, viewers’ caution and discretion are advised.
