Next-Gen Maruti Dzire Launch
In the current settings, the existing Dzire was launched back in 2017. Similarly, the existing Swift came in 2018. As a result, the Dzire is approaching the end of its lifecycle in this avatar. Hence, it will make way for the new-age model before the Swift. It is only after a few months that we would get the Swift. In fact, the international market gets the new Swift prior to India. Then we get the Dzire sedan after which the Swift arrives. Therefore, we expect the Dzire to come to India by June 2024 while the new Swift would only appear sometime in 2025.

25 Lakh Maruti Dzire Sold
Just to give you an idea of the incredible popularity the Maruti Dzire enjoys in India, its lifetime sales since 2008 stand at a jaw-dropping 25 lakh (2.5 million). This equates to a production rate of 19 units per hour. The model was initially introduced in 2008, and by FY2009-10, it had achieved the significant milestone of 1 lakh sales. Surprisingly, it reached the 5 lakh sales mark by FY2012-13. Even more remarkable, it hit the 1 million (10 lakh) milestone in FY2015-16. Following this, the sales of the compact sedan experienced exponential growth. Finally, in FY2023-24, there are now over 2.5 million (25 lakh) delighted Dzire customers, underscoring the tremendous demand for this sedan in our market.

In its current iteration, the Maruti Dzire comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 88 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. You can opt for either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT gearbox. Furthermore, there’s a CNG variant available, which produces 76 hp and 98 Nm of power and torque at its peak. The Dzire’s price bracket ranges from Rs 6.51 lakh to Rs 9.39 lakh, ex-showroom. It competes directly with other models such as the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura.
