Ford Endeavour has been one of the most successful off-roading premium SUVs in our market over the years. Apart from the Toyota Fortuner, no other premium SUV has been able to stand against the Endeavour in India. Off late, however, new players have been trying to enter this segment but these two products remain the star performers still. In a bid to further enhance the customer engagement and enthusiasm towards the Endeavour, the next-gen model has been spied testing in Australia. We shall try to discuss what this new model will come equipped with and also if Ford decides to bring this to India with the next update. For now, let us see what Everest (this is what it is called in Australia) might offer.

The new Endeavour is likely to be based on an updated platform with an upgraded ladder frame chassis. This simply means that the new SUV will be more agile and rugged at the same time enhancing the off-roading capabilities dramatically. It might be a bit longer than the current model which will translate to a more spacious cabin space which is an important factor for the customers in India with large families. In terms of appearance, the SUV will have redesigned front end including new LED headlamp units, sportier front bumpers, LED DRLs, large and bold front grille, an upright stance and much more. There is no doubt that the new Endeavour will command an imposing road presence. The sides will feature large wheel arches and alloy wheels which will be a balance between off-road-oriented and everyday usage.

The interiors and cabin of the current-gen model are also at par with the modern requirements and this will likely to continue with the next-gen model as well. The safety aspect of the Endeavour will also be taken care of by Ford with all the necessary and modern safety equipment.

Ford Endeavour- Expected Engines, Transmissions, Prices & Rivals
The point of interest to many will be the kind of powertrains and off-roading equipment that the new Endeavour might come with. Ford had discontinued the 3.2-litre diesel engine earlier and comes with a sole 2.0-litre diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic gearbox option only. With the updated Endy, we expect the same engine although there might be some hybrid technology supplementing the engine output. There might also be the new 3.0-litre V6 offered on the higher trims but it is only speculative at this moment. However, the 2.0-litre unit might come with a bi-turbo instead of the single turbo as it is now. But we will have to wait to see which route Ford decides to take once the Endy makes it to our shores. But rest assured, it will pack in a ton of off-roading equipment to make sure that it remains the go-to option for a lot of people when deciding to buy an SUV in this segment.
