New Volkswagen Polo and Vento will see subtle changes on the front, rear and side profile of the car. The car will be launched soon in Indian markets.
Volkswagen will soon launch new Polo and Vento and the same have been spied at a local dealership. The German manufacturers have been adding some cosmetic changes for every now and then with the Fifth-generation Polo.
The subtle changes on the new Volkswagen Polo and Vento include the front and rear bumpers which now gets a taste of GTI, revised front grille and a rear black diffuser. A new headlight design can be expected for the top-end trim and also the styling of alloy wheels is expected to be borrowed from the high-performance hatchback GTI.
Now the new Volkswagen Polo will come around later this year and we expect it to carry a BS-VI engine to comply with the upcoming emission norms. The Polo carries a total of 4-engine options – two petrol and two diesel while Vento carries 3-engine options – two petrol and one diesel.

The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor for Polo is likely to see an upgrade to BS-VI. This engine churns out 75 bhp with a peak torque of 95 Nm and is mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine is mated to 7-speed DSG and generates 103 bhp with 173 Nm of torque.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine and the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor are unlikely to comply with the BS-VI emission norms. As several car manufacturers have said that they will remove diesel engines from their portfolio post new emission norms, Volkswagen has not slipped any information regarding this.
Also, following with the upcoming safety norms, these cars will see an addition of seat belt reminders, dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system and ABS as standard across all variants.
Earlier we told you that to keep up the spirit of cricket and support Team India, they launched World Cup Edition for the Polo, Ameo and the Vento. That saw some new alloy wheels, body graphics, leather upholstery with world cup edition badging and more.

With the upcoming models coming in, the prices for the same will be higher than the on-going models. Currently, Volkswagen Polo is priced at Rs 5.77 lakh for the base trim while the top end comes at Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Polo shares its rivalry against the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the newly launched Toyota Glanza.
The prices for the Vento starts from Rs 8.69 lakh and the top end trim will set you back by Rs 14.34 lakh. It competes with the likes of Skoda Rapid, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna. All prices stated above are respective of ex-showroom, Delhi.
