Tata Nexon EV has been just launched in India and there are reports suggesting that the Nexon SUV could also come in the iCNG guise. Nexon has been the volume churner for the Indian auto giant for a long time now. Tata Nexon EV or iCNG?
The video comes from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. The vlogger mentions that there have been visuals on the internet revealing interesting details. In one such case, someone was filming the inside of the new Nexon EV. However, on the instrument cluster, the light of the CNG came on. That clearly means that the iCNG model is due for launch too. On the contrary, it is also possible that this new instrument cluster could be used on the Tiago or Tigor CNG cars which are already on sale. Companies often use similar instrument cluster on multiple cars to save costs.

The EV version is based on the regular Nexon with a few changes. The ICE version comes with a brand new layout for the cabin, with a free-standing infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, flat-bottom steering wheel with controls, rotary dials to select drive modes, ventialed seats, wireless charging, two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, rear AC vents, electric sunroof, LED cabin light, electronically adjustable ORVMs, premium audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and more. Overall, the compact SUV comes with all the latest bells and whistles to pamper the occupants.

The all-new Nexon maintains the same engine options as its predecessor, presenting a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The turbo petrol engine delivers a robust 120 hp and 170 Nm of torque, while the diesel counterpart generates 115 hp and 260 Nm of power and torque. Both engine choices come with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed AMT for convenience. What’s new, however, is the petrol variant’s expanded transmission options, now including a 5-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed automatic gearbox, catering to a broader range of customers. For those who enjoy manual control, paddle shifters are also available. The price range for these models falls between Rs 8.10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom.
