Tata Harrier vs Skoda Kushaq Drag Race
This post comes from Rohan Makania on YouTube. The YouTuber often keeps bringing content around the performance of various cars in drag race competitions. On this occasion, they have the stock Harrier and a tuned Kushaq. For the first round, both SUVs are in their sportiest settings with AC off. On the count of three, the Kushaq takes a massive lead and stays ahead for the entire competition. Since the performance was so impressive, the team decided to give an advantage to the Harrier in the second round by switching the AC of the Kushaq ON. However, the results remained the same. Finally, there were 3 people in Kushaq and 2 people in Harrier. Still, the former emerged victorious.

Specs Comparison
Tata Harrier facelift retains its powertrain. It has the familiar Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo diesel engine which generates 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission. On the other hand, this particular Kushaq has a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine which has been tuned to produce 140 hp and 240 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission duties are performed by a sporty 6-speed manual gearbox. The weight and overall performance enhancements of the Kushaq work in its favour.

What We Think
Lately, YouTubers have been increasingly enthusiastic about using drag races to gauge and compare the performance of different cars. However, it’s important to realize that relying solely on drag races for these assessments might not be the wisest approach. This concern stems from the possibility of drag races causing lasting damage to vehicles, as most cars are not built for extended, high-speed, straight-line racing. Therefore, we strongly advise against attempting drag races with your own car. In reality, most drivers avoid pushing their cars to such extreme limits, primarily due to safety considerations.
