Suzuki Motorcycles India VP (Marketing & Sales) has announced that Suzuki India will launch their second scooter model for India at the Auto Expo 2012. The existing model , Suzuki Access 125 CC has done great job in terms of sales numbers, but having one product for all kind of customers does not work for most companies. So Suzuki has been developing another scooter for Indian market. The new scooter by Suzuki Motorcycles India will expand its portfolio in the scooter market in India. So far, there is still competition to Suzuki Access from Honda Activa and Honda Aviator which has been among the top sellers in the scooter segment in India.

The sales of the two wheelers specially scooters is quite strong in India, one of the reasons for which is heavy traffic and high running cost of cars as petrol prices are very high. So many first time buyers are preferring two wheelers over cars because of economical cost of running and ownership.
There is strong demand of scooters in India and having another product will help Suzuki. Apart from Suzuki Motorcycles, Yamaha India is also expected to showcase its scooters at the Auto Expo as revealed by the National Business Head of Sales, Yamaha Motors India at the launch of Yamaha R15 in India. 2012 will be an interesting year for the two wheeler industry as new products are expected to make the market full of newer choices.
