After a year full of mid-size and sub-compact SUVs, 2020 will see the launch of quite some important full-size seven-seater SUVs and here we have compiled a list of all that will launch this year.
Last year, we saw many new mid-size and sub-compact SUVs being launched in our market. In the sub-compact SUV segment, the Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue were brand new entrants. Meanwhile, the mid-size SUV segment saw the likes of the Kia Seltos, the MG Hector and the Tata Harrier. And now, 2020 is going to be the year for full-size seven-seater SUVs. Indian do not seem to get enough of SUVs and there are quite a few coming your way. So here’s a list of all the seven-seater SUVs launching in India in 2020.
MG Hector Plus
The MG Hector Plus is a six/seven-seater version of the Hector that MG Motors showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is a very important product for MG Motors in India and it will come in both six- and seven-seater configurations. The Hector Plus even boasts of some cosmetic changes from the Hector and it looks much more stylish and sophisticated than the SUV its based on. Powering the MG Hector Plus will be the same 2.0L diesel engine and the 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol engine that powers the standard Hector. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and an optional DCT gearbox.
Tata Gravitas
Just like the MG Hector Plus, the Tata Gravitas is a seven-seater SUV based on the Tata Harrier. The Tata Gravitas too was shown at the 2020 Auto Expo and it is going to Tata’s new flagship SUV when its launched in the market. The face of the Gravitas looks largely similar to the Harrier but it is the rear end that has been completely redesigned with the length of the SUV being extended as well. Under the hood, the Gravitas will be powered by the same 2.0L diesel engine from the Harrier and transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
MG Gloster
The MG Gloster too made its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo this year and it was one of the most talked about new SUVs showcased at the motor show. The MG Gloster will be a very premium SUV that will be positioned even above the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavor. It’s also quite larger than both of them and also comes much better appointed on the interiors than the Fortuner and Endeavor. In fact, some even consider it as a much cheaper alternative to the ridiculously expensive Toyota Land Cruiser. The MG Gloster is rebadged version of the Maxus D90 sold internationally.

Toyota Fortuner Facelift
While all the other cars in this list were brand new products, this one is quite familiar. A couple of weeks ago, a spy image of the Toyota Fortuner facelift surfaced on the internet giving us a hint about the updated styling that this SUV is going to get. The new cosmetic changes will bring the Fortuner in line with other global products from Toyata’s lineup. We are not sure about any updates to the interiors but it will continue to be powered by the BS6 compliant 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel engine options seen on the current version of the car.
