The new Nissan X-Trail is India-bound as the first official teasers announced its arrival. X-Trail is a recognized international product from the Japanese auto giant. It sells in decent numbers across the globe. When this new model was revealed back in 2022, Nissan hinted that it might make it to India. But the latest official teaser specifically mentions that we are about to get the mid-size SUV in our market soon. For now, let us take a look at the details of this popular SUV.
New Nissan X-Trail Teased
The teaser confirms that the India launch will happen soon. The front fascia of the SUV is clearly visible in the teaser. It gets the V-Motion front grille section with sleek LED headlamps next to it. Also, the taillamp setup is split into two halves with the LED DRLs on the bonnet and the main headlamp cluster on the bumper. To further accentuate the road presence, we see a faux skid plate underneath the front bumper. Moving down the sides, there are colossal wheel arches with black cladding.
In fact, even the door panels wear this cladding to elevate its adventurous nature. The SUV gets elegant machined alloy wheels and compact roof rails. On the inside, we can expect the latest tech and convenience amenities. This includes a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a large 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, ADAS, an electronic parking brake, a premium audio system, wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display and more. It is clear that the SUV will be packed to the brim to entice customers. However, it will be a CBU vehicle which indicates high prices.
Specs
In the international markets, the Nissan X-Trail gets a 1.5-litre turbo petrol strong hybrid engine. This is capable of generating a cool 201 PS and 305 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a smooth CVT automatic gearbox. Additionally, there are options to choose between either a 2WD or an AWD variant. It will be interesting to see if both these versions make it to our shores. Needless to mention, the AWD avatar will be significantly more expensive. Let us wait a bit to know more details.
