Updated TVS Sport Launched with increased mileage
TVS Motors has launched an updated version of the Sport commuter bike with improved mileage and a few additional features. This 100cc commuter bike competes in a very hotly contested segment and these updates will help TVS keep the product fresh. Although TVS has been performing well in the two wheeler market in India, we haven’t seen too many new products from the brand in recent times. All this is expected to change by the end of 2016 as TVS is expected to launch the new 200cc Apache, new Victor and a bike developed in collaboration with BMW. Prices of the TVS Sport start at INR 36,880 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The TVS Sport is powered by a 99.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder petrol motor which produces a peak power of 7.5 PS @ 7,500 rpm & a peak torque of 7.5 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. This motor is mated to a 4-speed gearbox.

Fuel Mileage
Perhaps the biggest talking point about the updated version of the TVS Sport is the increase in mileage. From 87.7 kpl the fuel efficiency figure has now gone up to 95 kpl. TVS has managed to achieve this increase in fuel efficiency thanks to the application of chrome plated piston rings & roller cam follower which reduce friction.

Speaking about the updated product K N Radhakrishnan, President and CEO, TVS Motor Company said, “In keeping with our promise to deliver products that would delight our customers, we have added new features and have tuned the engine such that it returns better fuel economy.”
The updated TVS Sport has gone on sale across showrooms in India at a starting price of INR 36,880. The bikes will compete with the likes of the Bajaj Discover 100, Bajaj Platina, Hero HF Dawn, etc.
