India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has introduced a new model of the Achiever 150cc commuter motorcycle. The new model Hero Achiever 2016 comes with a 150cc engine that benefits from Hero’s i3S start/stop technology. It is available in two variants with prices starting at Rs. 61,800 (ex-showroom Delhi). The next generation Hero Achiever has gone on sale in two variants. While the Drum brake variants costs Rs. 61,800, the one with disc brakes, at Rs. 62,800 costs just 1000 rupees more. The price increase over the older model isn’t very significant. The new model also comes with Hero’s start/stop technology and other additional features.

The new model Achiever 150 comes with a 149 cc engine. This single cylinder unit puts out a maximum power of 13.4 BHP at 8000 rpm. Peak torque comes in at 12.8 Nm at 500 rpm. This engine is mated to 5-speed gearbox. The highlight of the specifications of the new model Hero Achiever 2016 is the i3S start/stop technology. This system cuts off power when the bike comes to a complete halt and is in neutral. The i3S tech should help boost fuel economy.
