The first major crash of the new Maruti Swift has surfaced. Swift is among the most popular hatchbacks in the country. It has been around in our market since 2005. In its latest version, we get the fourth-generation model. It comes with the latest tech, convenience and connectivity features along with 6 airbags as standard and a brand new engine. While we still await the official NCAP safety rating, this recent crash hints at the build quality of the Swift. Let us delve deep into the details of this case.
New Maruti Swift Crash
This post comes from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. It captures the visuals of the consequences of the accident. As per the information in the video, this case emerged from the Panki Ratanpur Road in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The host of the video informs the viewers that an e-rickshaw was travelling on the wrong side of the lane. To save it, the driver of the new Swift steered away. As a result, the vehicle collided with the divider. The car is brand new and it doesn’t even have the number plate. Due to the impact, the airbags were deployed.
Looking at the crash, the damage comes to the surface. This crash took place at around 35 km/h. The front section of the hatchback seems to have suffered the brunt of this crash. The bumper, fender, headlamps, bonnet, etc., have been deformed in this incident. The video clip also mentions that the occupant of the Swift didn’t suffer any serious injuries. In fact, there was just an old man in the car who is also the owner. I reckon the airbags were the reason for ensuring that the driver didn’t get hurt.
Our View
India is home to lakhs of car crashes each year with thousands of lives lost. Most of these accidents take place due to someone not following the traffic regulations. The road protocols are in place to ensure safety and smooth flow of traffic. Flouting these often leads to horrible consequences. I urge our readers to always be mindful of the traffic rules and encourage everyone around you to do the same. It is high time we follow these vehemently so that our road safety is ensured. If you find anyone disregarding the rules, make sure to report them to the authorities for further action.
