Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comes with a new 1.5 L diesel in-house engine. Ertiga will be the second car after Ciaz to get a bigger diesel engine.
With the introduction of a more powerful diesel engine, Maruti has upped its MUV game for the Ertiga. The new 1.5L DDiS diesel engine churns out a power of 95bhp with a peak torque of 225Nm.
To lower the NVH levels, the new engine gets a dual mass flywheel. The new DDiS 225 will soon replace the on-going 1.3L DDiS 220 engine sourced by Fiat.
As the new Ertiga gets some changes under the hood, the interiors and the exteriors design remains identical to the older one. The new Ertiga gets a 6-speed manual transmission against the 5-speed manual transmission which is offered in the previous version.
Maruti introduced the 1.5L diesel engine in Ertiga to rival with its competitor, Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy. Let’s have a look at how Maruti Ertiga 1.5 competes with its competitors in terms of performance.
Here, we have considered the top end variant of all three cars:
Engine Displacement | Maruti Ertiga 1.5 | Mahindra Marazzo | Renault Lodgy 110ps |
Displacement | 1498cc | 1497cc | 1461cc |
Max Power | 95bhp | 121bhp | 108bhp |
Peak Torque | 225Nm | 300Nm | 245Nm |
Mileage | 24.2Kmpl | 17.3Kmpl | 19.98Kmpl |
The most efficient of the lot is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga returning a mileage of 24.2 Km per litre. However, the 1.5L diesel motor churning out a power of 95bhp is the least powerful of the lot.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga offers safety features like dual standard airbags, ABS with EBD and offers a warranty of 2 years or 40,000 km, whichever is at the earliest.
Lets have a look at the pricing of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 1.5L and its competitors:
Prices | Maruti Ertiga 1.5 | Mahindra Marazzo | Renault Lodgy |
Ex-showroom | Rs 11.27 lakh | Rs 14.59 lakh | Rs 12.37 lakh |
