2022 Maruti Baleno is a heavily updated version of the outgoing car but it won’t look like the car in the images being circulated online
The highly updated new Maruti Baleno is merely days away from making it to our market and earlier today, we even brought to you pics of the first batch of the new version ready to be shipped to the dealerships. However, since a last few days, there have been a couple of images floating online that claim to be of the upcoming car. That said, a quick look at the spy images is enough to understand that these are simply morphed pics that are being passed off by some as ‘leaked’ pictures of the new car.

New Maruti Baleno Rear vs Fake Comparison
The quick comparison seen above that the actual model looks a lot different from the purported leaked image that’s being widely circulated by many websites and Youtube videos. Also, even in the the most recent sighting (which you can view by clicking HERE), it’s clear that the new car looks nothing like the one being promoted through the fake pics. In actual, the new Maruti Baleno will feature a sleeker version of the current car’s pulled-back headlamps along with a wider and sleeker iteration of the front grille. This will be coupled with a new bumper that will have a revised airdam. In comparison, the grey car being shown in the rendering carries horizontal headlamps and the same bumper as the current model’s, albeit, in a roughly photoshopped form.
Even at the rear, even though the cars seen in the spy image as well as the rendering show the vehicle with new wrap-around twin-piece taillamps, the one seen in the purported leaked image are clearly fake. In comparison to how they look in actual, the one seen in the widely circulated image are a tad too big and don’t even look well finished. Clearly, the so-called leaked images are nothing more than roughly done renderings of the actual car.

New Maruti Baleno will launch on February 23 and will not just feature an updated exterior but will even have a new interior with many new features such as 6 airbags, HUD, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger and 360-degree park assist. Not just this, it will even feature thicker sheetmetal that should help it with a better NCAP score. Finally, the current car’s CVT option will be replaced with an AMT, while the 1.2-litre Dualjet Dual VVT petrol engine of the present model will be seen on the new car in a new state of tune. The several updates carried by the new model should help it ward off the increased competition from fresher rivals like the Tata Altroz and 3rd-gen Hyundai i20.
