The Mahindra XUV500 Facelift is all set to launch in India on 18th April. Recently, some photos with leaked specifications of the car went viral. The beast has been updated and is expected to cost Rs 25000 – Rs 30000 more than its predecessor.
Currently, Mahindra XUV500 W9 and W10 are available in the market, which will be succeeded by the new W11. Reports suggest that the SUV will have a minor facelift and little tweaks in the exterior and interior. The XUV500 Facelift is going to launch in India on the 18th of April this year.
The biggest change that Mahindra XUV500 gets is under the hood. It gets a 2.2 Litre MHawk Engine producing 155 BHP worth power and 360Nm of torque. The engine gets a new sixth-gen turbocharger along with new ‘eVGT’ technology that works according to the ECU signals and acceleration. The car gives an estimated fuel efficiency figure 15.4kp. The lesser variants, however, are likely to continue with the 140hp version which gives 15.1kpl. Mahindra will also sell the recently introduced 140hp 2.2-litre petrol motor on the XUV500.

The SUV gets a new-look grille up front that’s embellished with a thick chrome surround and studded detailing. The bumper has been changed as well, with higher variants sporting a dual-tone faux skid plate. The reprofiled headlamps get projector units and LED Daytime Running Lamps. The XUV500 also gets a restyled tailgate, with chrome accents above the license plate enclosure. Coming to the interiors, the XUV500 facelift will come with tan-coloured leather seats with quilted cross-stitching.
The technology in this car has not been comprised. Mahindra XUV500 gets an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, Electric Sunroof, Keyless Entry and more. Some new and unusual features of the car, Cruise Controls and voice commands. Also, Mahindra will also introduce a new smartwatch app under its BlueSense banner.

The facelift version of the vehicle will be available in a total of six variants (five diesel and a petrol) in the estimated price range of Rs 13.5 lakh-Rs 20 lakh. The new Mahindra XUV 500 will compete with the likes of Tata Hexa, Hyundai Creta, and Jeep Compass.
