New Mahindra Thar to get all new interiors and the SUV is built on a new body-on-ladder platform to provide better off-road experience.
Several spy shots of the New Mahindra Thar have been surfacing on the internet and by the looks of it, the SUV does look intimidating and carries a conventional design than then on-going Thar. However, the interiors of the New Mahindra Thar have been spied which gives you a clear image of how the SUV may look like.
The interiors of the 4×4 reveal an all-black theme along with a new dashboard layout. The instrument cluster sees a larger MID placed between the dials compared to the three circular units in the current one.
It will get a new touchscreen infotainment system mounter higher up in the dash with four speakers. It is expected to support connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets the regular round AC vents but with new controls located below the infotainment system.

The interiors of New Mahindra Thar also sees black fabric seats and white stitching to give a contrast. It also features front power windows and we can also expect a new multi-function steering wheel.
New Mahindra Thar is expected to debut at the Auto Expo 2020 and will be launched sometime later then. It will suffice with the crash tests and the BS-VI emission norms. Currently, the Thar is on sale with lack of safety features like ABS, EBD and even airbags.
2020 Mahindra Thar will sport a new 2.0-litre BS-VI compliance engine. This oil-burner which will make a power output of 140 bhp with 300 Nm of peak torque which is a significant jump from the on-going model. The SUV seen here will get a 6-speed manual transmission along with four-wheel drive system.
The new Thar will also use the body-on-ladder platform for better off-road performance. The Borwarner 4WD system and differential locking which likely to be continued. We can expect the manufacturer to provide better on-road experience with the New Mahindra Thar.

It will get basic safety features like ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, front-seat belt reminder and high-speed alert system. With the introduction of BS-VI compliant engine and the upgraded safety norms, we can expect some hike in the prices of the upcoming SUV.
