A case has surfaced where a Mahindra Scorpio owner has reported an oil pressure problem in his brand new SUV. He has the S11 variant. Scorpio has been an iconic workhorse in Mahindra’s lineup in India for years. It is one of the most tough, rugged and practical budget SUVs in the country. People have been using it for carrying multiple passengers, luggage, goods, especially in the semi-urban and rural areas. Its tough build and robust chassis allow it to glide over rough terrains. 4×4 capabilities and high ground clearance mean that the SUV is able to reach those parts of the country where regular SUVs can’t. Here are the details of this incident.

Mahindra Scorpio Oil Pressure Problem
While the Scorpio doesn’t generally get a lot of problems, this is definitely a rare occasion. According to the owner, he started getting the low oil pressure warning after getting the first service at 1000 km done. The blinking symbol started appearing on the instrument cluster. He had to send the SUV to the service centre. The Scorpio was there for a few days during which the service team changed the oil pressure switch and oil pump. A week after that, the owner experienced the same error again. This time, the vehicle was in the workshop for 14 days. The oil pump was modified, the switch was changed again and the O ring was also changed. But after driving the vehicle for around 100 km, the owner again got the same problem.

The owner has posted the videos along with the images of changed components. The short video clearly shows that the blinking oil error sign is still there. The owner, finally, had to tweet and tag Anand Mahindra and the official Mahindra online handles to seek a solution to this recurring issue. However, he received empty assurances and the SUV remains problematic. While we understand that such cases are rare, Mahindra should, however, make sure that this problem is not exacerbated due to negligence. It must strive to offer the Scorpio owner, a reliable and long-term solution to this oil pressure problem.
