A leaked copy of the owner manual of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N reveals its segment-leading dimensions
The new Mahindra Scorpio N is merely days away from its official debut. The next generation of the popular SUV, which goes on sale with the ‘N’ suffix, is being promoted as the ‘Big Daddy of SUVs’. Well, several spy shots had already made us aware of the large dimensions of the upcoming vehicle. Now, though, we have the leaked instructions manual of the vehicle. A look at the dimensions not just confirm large dimensions but even show that the new model is both longer and wider than the Tata Safari. This is quite interesting as the latter is a more premium vehicle positioned against the XUV700.

New Mahindra Scorpio N vs Tata Safari Dimensions Comparison
As seen in the leaked document, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is 4,662 mm long, 1,917 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. This makes it a lot bigger than the current version. The upcoming SUV is 206 mm longer and 97 mm wider than the current Scorpio. It even has a 70 mm longer wheelbase. It’s even wider and taller than XUV700 by 27 mm and 115 mm, respectively. Moreover, it even has the same wheelbase. Furthermore, the upcoming SUv is bigger than even the Tata Safari. It’s marginally longer, 23 mm wider and full 84 mm taller. It even offers 9 mm longer wheelbase.

The large dimensions are sure to translate into a roomy cabin. Coupled with many modern features, the interior of the Scorpio N should be far more premium than what the current SUV offers. Speaking of the equipment on offer, the new model will offer a large touchscreen infotainment unit with AdrenoX AI, part-digital instrument cluster, middle and rear row AC vents and electric sunroof. Unlike XUV700, the new Mahindra Scorpio N won’t offer ADAS.

Akin to the Mahindra XUV700 and the latest Mahindra Thar, the Mahindra Scorpio N will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The former will be a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol motor that will output 170PS. The latter will be the tried-and-tested 2.2-litre mHawk mill producing 130 PS in the lower variants and 170 PS in the higher models. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. AWD with 4-Xplor system will be on offer on select models. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N is based on a ladder-frame chassis as opposed to the monocoque construction of XUV700 and Tata Safari.
