Kia has filed for a new logo in Korea which features a new stylized script but it will most likely not be used in India as they are still relatively new to our market.
Kia Motors seems to have come up with a new logo for their brand as there are some new leaked images on the internet that suggest so. From what we see in the images, it takes inspiration from one of the concepts showcased by the Korean brand at the 2019 Geneva motor show. Unlike the current logo that the company uses where the letters in the word ‘KIA’ are written separately, this new logo has the letters of the company’s name merged with each other.
Kia has filed an application with the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) and it shows us that this new logo will be available with either a black or a red finish on a white background. From the looks on the leaked images, the new logo is largely similar to the current one in terms of its ovoid shape and chrome-finished lettering but it gets a new stylized script.
What we do not know as of yet is where Kia will use this new logo exclusively on Kia’s hybrids and EVs or will it be available across the entire lineup of Kia cars. Whatever the case may be, it is pretty unlikely that Kia will be bringing this logo to India anytime soon. It might prove to be counterproductive for the brand as they are still relatively new in our market and changing their logo right away might not be such a great idea.

On another news, the 2020 Auto Expo is just round the corner and Kia’s stall would certainly be one of the stalls to look out for. Kia would be bringing the Carnival premium MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo along with a Hyundai Venue-based compact SUV. The new sub-compact SUV from Kia will sit on the platform of the Venue but will be styled completely different. The upcoming c-SUV will also use the engines from Venue, including the 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol, 1.2 Litre petrol and the 1.4 Litre turbo-diesel engine.

And then Kia also has the Carnival MPV which is meant to be a direct rival for the Innova Crysta, the best-selling MPV of its segment. It will come with multiple seating configuration ( 6, 7 or even 8 seats) and will cost upwards of Rs. 25 lakhs. Most likely, the Kia Carnival MPV will come with a BS-6 compliant 2.2 Litre turbo-diesel engine.
